Yet for many owners, it means cancelled rides, long delays, or rearranging their entire day to make a vet or grooming appointment.
Pet Taxi exists to remove that friction, reliably, professionally, and with your pet’s safety as the priority.
Our Story
Pet Taxi was founded by a passionate New Zealand pet owner who returned to New Zealand in late 2025.
After settling in Wellington, it quickly became clear that many pet owners faced the same challenge: finding reliable transport for their pets. Whether it was a trip to the vet, groomer, airport, or boarding kennel, people were often refused rides, faced long wait times, or struggled to find suitable transport altogether.
What started as a personal frustration soon revealed a much larger gap in the market. Through conversations with fellow pet owners and veterinarians, one thing became clear: there was a need for a dedicated service focused entirely on safe, reliable, and stress-free pet transportation.
That idea became Pet Taxi.
Why Pet Taxi Exists
Traditional transport options weren’t designed for pets.
Rideshare drivers can refuse animals. Public transport isn’t always practical. Friends and family aren’t always available. And most services require the owner to be present.
The result: missed appointments, added stress, and compromised care.
Pet Taxi was built to solve this properly.
